Kenya Prayer Update #13

Greetings from a rainy African night!
Jake and I just got back from an unsheltered piki ride in the rain... so if there appear to be tears on the page, just know I'm not crying as I write this, I'm just soaking wet!
Music at the hospital was a great blessing on Friday. I think there were about twenty patients that attended, and ten or so students from a nearby university who were in the club that organized the event. It was a great time of worship and fellowship -- it was amazing to hear everyone jointly singing Psalm 23 in Swahili; beautiful, beautiful song. Thank you for praying for the event, it was truly blessed by God.
The rains still haven't picked up a ton yet, and we've been able to start pouring the foundation. Today we began that process, and we bought a third mixer to speed things up a little bit. We've got about 50 men at the land daily now, cranking out rebar, forms, and concrete as fast as we can. I've been privileged to be the foreman of one of the mixers now that there are three, making sure we keep the right ratio of cement/sand/rock and operating and maintaining the machine. Pray for wisdom and endurance for us all; we'll be working 7am til dark, which is about 7pm.
One more thing you can pray for -- This coming Monday and Tuesday our church is hosting a Calvary Chapel Association East Africa Kenya Regional Pastors' Conference. That was a mouthful, but that is its name. We'll be hosting pastors from across East Africa. Pray for success in the teaching of God's Word those days, and that local pastors would be encouraged and bolstered in their faith.
I've attached a photo of our music team from Friday: left to right it goes me (only mzungu), and then my friends Cornerstone, Shalom, and Braxton. I've also got some photos I took at the job yesterday and then a cool lookout over the City of El Doret I took from a hill that overlooks downtown.
God bless, and thank you for your continued prayers!
PS: I've just remembered something I'd like to ask you all to pray for. I went to the doctor on Monday because over the weekend I suspected that either there were two little squirrels having a sword fight with toothpicks in my stomach, which is perfectly reasonable, or else I had a bacterial infection of some sort at long last. Turns out I do have bacteria, but thankfully it is not h. pylori, which is the most evil of the native amoebas. It's just a mild infection, and I'm on antibiotics, so do pray that the medicine will eradicate the bacteria and not leave me overly drained. That's all. I'm fine, really, just a little tired from the antibiotics. God is good. Thank you for praying!
